Apple Slashes iPhone 6s And 6s Plus Prices, Says Vaikundarajan

It could not have been a better time for Apple fans to rejoice. As we approach the year end, the company has decided to slash the costs of its iPhone 6s and 6s Plus by 16%. “Slashing prices just 2 months after the launch seems like a pre-meditated marketing strategy by Apple,” observes Vaikundarajan. “Apple will be hoping to regain the demand of iPhone 6s model in domestic market with this approach,” he adds.

When iPhone 6s was launched back in Diwali, it was priced at INR 62000 for its basic model. The high asking rate did not go well with the domestic market and affected the sales.

“Following the drop in the rates, major online retails such as Amazon and Flipkart will be selling the smartphone at INR 52,000 and INR 55,000,” informs Vaikundarajan.

Another reason to cut down the cost is to reduce the gap between handsets of previous generations that were Rs 8000-9500 cheaper, adds Vaikundarajan.

Due to the huge difference in the costs, many loyal apple fans were disheartened and did not seek to upgrade to the latest edition. “This drop in sales must have hit Apple hard, resulting in this move,” says Vaikundarajan. The slashing of costs for iPhone 6s and 6s plus will help restore the faith of some fans if not all.

Apple iPod Touch Updated With Colours And Upgrades Like Never Before, Says Vaikundarajan

Apple has after a long hiatus upgraded their range of iPods such as iPod Nano, Shuffle and Touch. They have introduced substantial amounts of upgrades and a whole range of colours to pick and choose from says Vaikundarajan.

Apple’s products are always held in high regard and yet with the advent of the newer, better and bigger iPhones, somewhere Apple Inc. was left behind on updating their iPod devices says Vaikundarajan.

One cannot blame Apple Inc. for this delayed roll out of upgraded features to the iPod since a standalone music player is fast losing importance owing to the rife competition in mobiles.

However, Apple Inc. realized the delay and have duly filled the gap by introducing new colours in the iPod Nano and Shuffle, says Vaikundarajan.

The iPod Nano and Shuffle will now be available in hot pink, dark blue and gold in addition to the existing black, silver and red.

However, there seem to be no changes in the structure or functioning in either of the aforementioned products, says Vaikundarajan.

On the other hand, the iPod Touch has received an internal and external upgrade and is now available with a 64-bit chip for faster performance and gaming.

In addition to the amped up chip, Apple Inc. has also included a motion co-processor which can track physical activity and an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, says Vaikundarajan.

Thus, these updates bring the iPod Touch more in line with the iPhone 6. It is sure to captivate those consumers that still look at a good performing player device rather than a phone.

The new and updated iPod Touch is priced starting at $199 for a 16GB model and $399 for 128GB model, says Vaikundarajan.
