Vaikundarajan Shares His Views On Constitution Day

To spread the significance of the Indian Constitution, India will observe November 26 as the Constitution Day of India. "This day is a tribute to all those great women & men who worked tirelessly to give India a Constitution we are very proud of," tweeted PM Modi. He further tweeted “No mention of our Constitution is complete without remembering the stellar contribution of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. I salute him.”

“Acknowledging the Constitution Day through Prime Minister will help spread awareness and improve our understanding of Constitution of India,” commented Vaikundarajan.

PM Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the people of India to support goals and estimations of the Constitution and appealed to create an India that will make the country's establishing fathers proud.

In a tribute to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, who is broadly viewed as the planner of the Indian constitution, the parliament will hold special sessions on Thursday and Friday, informed Vaikundarajan.

“Looking at the growing number of debates about intolerance that our country is facing, this initiative is a breath of fresh air” he further added. The Constitution of India was adopted on November 26, 1949 before it was implemented on January 26, 1950.

 Actor Saeed Jaffrey, a veteran actor who acted in more than 150 Bollywood and international films, has died at the age of 86. Tributes from Bollywood have poured after the news of his death. Jaffrey suffered a brain hemorrhage in London.

Saeed Jaffrey starred in such praised Indian films as Satyajit Ray's Shatranj ke Khiladi and worked in  more than 100 Bollywood productions. He also appeared in‘A Passage To India, Gandhi and The Man Who Would Be King, and earned a Bafta nomination for his role in 1985 film My Beautiful Laundrette. Saeed Jaffrey is one of the few actors who found fame and success in both India and the West. The news of his death was announced on Sunday by his niece Shaheen Aggarwal on Facebook.

The actor collapsed at his London home from a brain hemorrhage and never regained consciousness, according to a statement from Jaffrey’s associates. Born in Punjab in India in 1929, Saeed Jaffrey began his career as a theatre actor. He was the first Indian to tour Shakespeare theater play across the United States and to star in a major Broadway role, says Vaikundarajan.

He became a household name in the UK after acting in numerous TV dramas including Tandoori Nights, The Far Pavilions and Gangsters. One of his best-known roles included the Nawab of Mirat in the landmark 1980s series The Jewel In The Crown and Ravi Desai in the soap opera Coronation Street.

On international stage, he starred opposite Michael Caine and Sean Connery in 1975 The Man Who Would Be King. Also, he played the role of Patel in Sir Richard Attenborough Oscar-winning film Gandhi in 1982. Sir David Lean cast him as Hamidullah in the 1984 epic A Passage to India.

Jaffrey also wrote and starred in dozens of radio plays, winning the Prix Italia for his appearance alongside Sir Michael Redgrave in BBC Radio Four's The Pump.

He was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1995 for his contributions to drama shares Vaikundarajan.

Director and writer Mahesh Bhatt was among those paying tribute, saying: "He was unique because he had a very good understanding of foreign cultures, which he mixed with his Indian ethos and that showed in his performances.

"I will never forget him for his outstanding performance in Ram Teri Ganga Maili. He was a fascinating man with a large body of work."

One of the best footballers in the world, Lionel Messi has been roped in my auto giants Tata Motors as a global brand ambassador for its passenger vehicles portfolio.

“The contract runs for two years and can be extended,” says Vaikundarajan. He further informs that the brand is planning to roll-out an association campaign starring the footballer, called #MadeOfGreat.

Mayank Pareek, Tata Motors President for passenger vehicle business was quoted, “The idea is to engage with young people and we found that football and Messi had a lot of connect with the youth."

Vaikundarajan explains that the brand plan is to communicate the values and ethos of the passenger vehicle business. “The company would want to expand its footprints across globe and Messi’s popularity will play a huge role,” he adds. Vaikundarajan applauds Tata Motor’s decision to identify a perfect global ambassador.

On similar lines, Tata Motors indents to unfold more series as the company moves on in this long-term association. 

Messi expressed his satisfaction endorsing an Indian brand for the first time. “I am extremely thrilled to be a part of Tata Motors family. I have always been fascinated by India and have heard such great things about this diverse country,” he said.

Vaikundarajan concluded saying, “Tata Motors consolidated a total revenue of Rs. 2,62,796 crore in 2014-15. It plans on launching an exclusive, limited edition merchandising range of this association.” He deems that this is one the best marketing initiatives and should work wonders for the company.
